Is Job Transitioning Getting Harder? Maybe

I’m trying to decided if I buy this data, which appeals to me given my priors about growing structural rigidities in employment markets. Retraining is harder, given the large skill “distance” between many occupations, and given how people don’t move as much as they once did for jobs in the US. The result may be much longer time transitioning between jobs than previously, even if the unemployment rate remains low. An interesting and unfortunate paradox.
